I think I’ve broken fly rods about five times, and tenkara rods about five times as well 😢 (though some weren’t my fault 🤔) 
In some cases, both fly rods and tenkara rods broke near the tip, so I simply trimmed off the broken ends and installed new tip-top guides or lillians. They ended up a bit shorter, but still usable 😅
