Every time someone talks about AI as a fad, I am disappointed. It's definitely a bubble, but it's not a fad: it's an addictive drug.
Chatbots and generative art were addictive in the 1980s. And now, a trillion dollars has been put into making them more addictive, appealing, and responsive.
The people pushing the bubble are not simply scummy vultures pushing a fad to make a buck. They are addicts.
They spent a trillion bucks weaponizing lovebombs and pointing it at their own face.
