I thought all the time that it was at least a productive intellectual exercise, that it'd make me better at argument and have better arguments, that even against deliberately obtuse sophists I would benefit and grow as a person doing it.
But in the end it was just a less enjoyable form of PvP. I should've played DOTA all those years.
