I'm kinda grossed out by the aristocratic framing of the original post, and I wonder who this appeals to. I've seen well-off family members sell their homes and spend their final years comfortably in assisted living. I've seen others jump from rental to rental as their resources dwindled. I've also visited low-end nursing homes, where you can smell urine in every hallway. It's sick to declare that McMahon would be shamed by housing that is better than the vast majority of us will get.
