Imagine she was your daughter…
Imagine a little girl carrying her schoolbag,
waiting for her first morning at school,
dreaming of new books and colorful notebooks,
and of writing her name on the first page of a new school year.
But in Gaza…
even children’s joy has become a target for death.
Burned school supplies…
A charred car…
And scattered remains.
Little Wafaa never made it to her school.
She never wore her school uniform,
never opened her new notebook,
and never got to experience the joy of her first day at school.
In a direct strike on their car,
little Wafaa and her father, Yousef Akila, were killed.
Her school year ended before it even began.
O cruel world…
Imagine she was your daughter.
Then tell us…
How could a little girl possibly be a threat,
simply because she was on her way to her very first day of school?
