Hi Dr. Baez,
Thanks for your post. Neural networks have a fascinating history, but my real issue with today's prize is one of demarcation. Many fields draw inspiration from physical models, but I would find it unnatural to classify some of them as physics. Neural networks are pretty far outside of what I understand to be physics, which is what makes this prize difficult for me to comprehend. Do you see it differently?
