i don't get 'business' in the usa

my parents were both public servants

paper route early-on
paid for my bike (barely)
but, didn't pay taxes
that started at 12yrs
resturant help
they paid me so they could do business
segue into the mil for a bit,
but back to 'work4wages' so others could do biz.
have a mutual
also trying hard to do cargobike biz
'handyman'
he*finally* turned a profit.
insurance&bonding costs went thru the roof once he could 'stand on his own'
