Sadly, my brother Diaa remains in extremely critical condition in the intensive care unit. The doctors have informed us that his condition is very serious, and more medical devices have been connected to his body in an effort to save his life. The medical team is doing everything they can, but we are living through painful and heartbreaking moments that are difficult to describe.
My name is Asmaa, and I am speaking on behalf of my brother Diaa. I swear that since yesterday, we have been living in a state of shock and fear. We have barely been able to eat or drink because of our constant worry about him.
Diaa was not just our brotherβhe was the pillar of our family. We are nine sisters, along with our mother and father, and Diaa always worked hard to provide for us and take care of us, even while he was suffering himself. Even when he was lying in a hospital bed, he always thought about his family before thinking about himself.
A few days before being admitted to the ICU, Diaa asked me to speak to all of you if his condition worsened and not to leave our family alone during these difficult times. He always said that he loved you all and appreciated everyone who supported him, prayed for him, or shared his story.
Yesterday, when my mother and I visited him in the ICU, we were devastated by what we saw. Diaa was in a complete coma, surrounded by medical equipment. It was a heartbreaking sight that shattered our hearts. π
