hmm... i agree that a shrinkwrap.json in my dependency tree should never take precedence over an upstream shrinkwrap.json or an upstream override, but ...removing it is ridiculous. ..so much work now.
i guess inhabe to start ignoring `npm install` and tell everyone to exclusively use `npm ci` now and then use `package-lock.json` which currently is part of all my `.gitignore` files ...what a dumpster fire
but yeah, its all slowly enshittifying anyway for a very long time already
